Classic vs. Modern

The world is literally full of design classics.  Whether it be furniture, vehicles, architecture or art, the design world is graced with items created in the past century that have such purity of form that they provide a staple element of inspiration for everything that follows.
Have any of these "classic" items got a modern day equivalent? Something that has been inspired by or encapsulates the inspiration of something created by design masters?
Here are a couple of examples that inspire me from the past along with their equivalent from the present...

A classic 1956 Eames lounge chair

The Metropolitan Chair by Jeffrey Bennett (2003)

1969 Aston Martin DB6 (James Bond 'Goldfinger' cool!)

2011 Aston Martin One-77

Fallingwater (Frank Lloyd Wright, 1939)

Doonan House (Yours truly, 2005)

 "Oh, Alright" (Roy Lichtenstein, 1965)

"Casablanca" (Erin Rayner, 2010)

What are your choices?
